Far too often, older animal companions are abandoned or euthanized because of their age. 8+ year old animals are wonderful companions! Usually, they are calm, bond strongly with their person, love to sit on laps for a nap, or are quite content to receive some gentle chin scratches.
Our Senior Companion Program matches people 62+ with cats or dogs 8+ and provides food, cat litter, supplies, and medical services to the animal for the remainder of the animal companion’s life. Each animal has a case manager who coordinates the animal’s food and supply delivery and vet appointments at Chambers Creek Vet Hospital in Lakewood, WA.
There is no adoption fee since the companion remains a Kindred Souls Foundation animal while the senior person cares for him/her. Your contribution will go to the senior animal most in need at the time. Our senior program currently services the Tacoma/Lakewood/Steilacoom area.
