Kindred Souls Foundation’s outreach program helps people who face barriers to accessing pet food, supplies, and basic veterinary care.

Our goal is to keep animals with their families and out of an already overburdened animal welfare system. Our Outreach program serves families living in sheltered homelessness at the Nativity House Apartments, Nativity House Day Shelter, the Tacoma Stability Site, and the Tacoma Emergency Micro Shelters (site 4). All locations are in Pierce County, WA. Services include basic on-site veterinary care including wellness exams, vaccines, nail trims, flea and tick medication, ear mite medication, and de-wormer. We also provide free pet food and supplies and educate the families on the importance of spay/neuter. We provide free spay/neuter assistance to any pet residing at these locations.

KSF volunteers, Dr. Shannon Tyler and LVT Hali Harlow, lead this monthly effort. Our team also includes LVT Lindsay Krutsinger, LVT Alicia Hoglan, LVT Rachel Williams, Shawndra Michell, Venus Dergan, and Michele Beal-Irwin.

We currently provide over 60 animals with food each month. Food donations have been slower this year while the number of pets in need has increased. If you would like to help make sure all pets get the food they need, we would be grateful for your help. You can donate needed items from our Amazon Wish List or Chewy.com Wish List or make a financial contribution so that we can purchase food, vaccines, flea medication, and other supplies to make the animals comfortable.

There is great need in our community. Please consider donating to our outreach program so animals receive the food and care they deserve while remaining with their loving families.
