This #GivingTuesday we want to provide 50 Kindred Souls Foundation rescue animals with medical services they need. We’re hoping to raise $5,000 so that $100 can go towards each animal. X-rays, blood work, ultrasounds, and surgeries are some of the medical services we provide to animals who still have quality of life, but need a little extra care.
Kindred Souls Foundation provides sanctuary to abandoned, abused, and neglected cats and dogs of all ages, a holistic approach to their care, and education on the rewards and responsibilities of animal companionship. We are a 100% volunteer-run organization, a 501c3 not-for-profit organization, and a Washington State registered charity.
Kindred Souls Foundation has been a unique organization since our inception. We have focused our efforts on the animals who are frequently overlooked; seniors, medically fragile, and special needs.
Our Senior Companion, Medically Fragile, and Special Needs programs were designed to match animals in need with people in the community who benefit from their companionship, but may not have the financial means, emotional support, physical ability, or educational knowledge to care for them without assistance. The animals come from high volume shelters, or other dire situations, and are given a forever home with the matched caregiver. Each program is designed to nurture a mutually rewarding relationship between rescue animal and caregiver.
For example, our medically fragile program follows the principles of palliative care. Animals with illness are paired with kindred souls in the community who have agreed to give the animal a home and family. The projected lifespan varies for each animal, but all require some level of special care. The support team consists of doctors, specialists, the caregiver(s), KSF case manager, and other KSF volunteers. Kindred Souls Foundation covers the cost of food, supplies, and medical care and emotionally supports the caregiver.
We would be honored if you would consider supporting our organization on this #GivingTuesday by helping us with our goal to raise $5000 towards the cost of the medical care provided to the wonderful dogs and cats of Kindred Souls Foundation.
